The 500 Backpack Challenge | Celebrating Phase One and Looking Ahead

When Care Package Inbound launched the 500 Backpack Challenge, we set out with an ambitious goal: fund 500 backpacks for children entering foster care.
We knew it wouldn't happen overnight. We knew it would take generosity, teamwork, and people willing to step forward.
But we believed in the power of community.
And our community showed up in a BIG way!
As we officially celebrate the completion of Phase One, we are incredibly excited to announce that together, we have funded 164 BACKPACKS!
That's 164 opportunities to provide comfort, dignity, and hope to children entering foster care.
And we couldn't have done it without YOU!
164 Backpacks. 164 Reasons to Celebrate!
Every funded backpack represents so much more than the essentials inside.
It's a clean outfit for a child who may have left home with nothing.
It's a warm blanket, a toothbrush, new socks, and something comforting to hold.
It's a reminder that even during one of life's most difficult moments, someone cares.
At Care Package Inbound, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.
And thanks to our incredible donors, volunteers, businesses, and community partners, we've taken 164 meaningful steps toward our goal of 500 backpacks.
That is something worth celebrating!
A Special Thank You
One of the highlights of Phase One was watching businesses step forward and lead by example.

Waypoint Mutual didn't just encourage its employees to support the 500 Backpack Challenge. They stepped up and committed to matching every employee donation!

We're Not Finished. Phase Two Is Coming!
As exciting as Phase One has been, we're not stopping here.
Our original goal was 500 backpacks, and that goal hasn't changed!
164 funded. 336 remaining.
We are now preparing for Phase Two of the 500 Backpack Challenge, and we couldn't be more excited about what comes next.
We'll be building on the momentum created during Phase One, connecting with new community partners, encouraging more businesses to get involved, and inviting individuals and families to help us finish what we started.
And we're hoping to see even more businesses follow the example set by Waypoint Mutual by finding ways to involve their teams and multiply the impact of employee generosity.
Because the need doesn't stop when a campaign ends.
Children continue to enter foster care every day, often under circumstances beyond their control.
And we want to be ready for them.
Imagine What We Can Do Together
If Phase One taught us anything, it's that generosity has a ripple effect.
One person gives.
Another person shares.
A business gets involved.
A group of employees comes together.
And suddenly, a goal that once seemed enormous starts becoming a reality.
We've already seen what this community can do.
