And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”  Matthew 25:37-40 ESV

Over the last year Care Package Inbound has seen a tremendous amount of growth. Going from 3 care package distribution points back in 2021, they have now increased that number up to 13 as of this year. However, through all of this growth, your support is paramount to making these bags happen and meet the needs of our community.

According to KVC Kansas, there are on average “any given day, nearly 6,000 youth that are in Kansas foster care”. In the Kansas City region alone, there has been an average of 1.8k children that are in foster care placement outside of their home in FY 2024 from July 2024 to June of 2025 with an overall total of 5.9k kids throughout the state according to Kansas DCF (Department for Children and Families).

According to the Missouri Coalition For Children report, from 2009 to 2022, there was a 49% increase in children in the foster care system from 9,386 in May of 2009 to 13,982 in May of 2022. However, that number has dwindled to 11,209 as of July 2025, according to the Missouri Department of Social Services.

Care Package Inbound seeks to bridge the gap between the time they leave home to when they officially enter the foster care system. From birth to 17, we believe each and every child is a gift of God worthy of love and dignity. Whether you give $1 or $100, as a one time gift, monthly, or annually, every donation is critical to reach our goal of $75 per bag. If we can get 20 $20 donations, that is five lives changed through loving hands crafting their tomorrow because of your support.

We want to thank Waypoint Mutual who has been a big partner to us over the years. They just sent a gift of $30,000 to go towards making these back packs. Whether you have an Individual or Group excess workers compensation, captives, as well as high deductibles, they will be happy to serve you with all of your insurance needs. Whether through retail or wholesale agencies, they seek to be collaborative, innovative, integrity driven, and inclusive no matter who you are in need of help.

Since 2022, their Christmas party has been crucial to our mission of “delivering hope to all people through compassion, support, and love for the foster community”.

From 2020 to 2024, 1000 bags have been packed and delivered through their generosity at an average of 200 bags per year.

Our next packing event will be on September 27th from 3-5 PM at Brew Haha Coffee House. There will be a separate time of prayer to bless our bags with the Lord’s protection for these precious children to know they have a God who loves them and gave His life so they can know they can have a full life in return.
