Kansas City Needs Us: Help Support Victims of Human Trafficking During the FIFA World Cup

As Kansas City prepares to host the FIFA World Cup, there’s another reality growing behind the scenes that many people are not talking about enough, the increase in human trafficking that often follows major global events.
If you haven’t already noticed, you’re about to see more ads online and across social media for things like “Girls Wanted” or “Looking for Love.” Sadly, these are often tied to trafficking activity and exploitation.
At Care Package Inbound, we believe every person deserves dignity, safety, and hope.
That’s why we are partnering with the Kansas City Police Department to provide emergency backpacks and care items for victims of human trafficking here in Kansas City during the World Cup.
These backpacks are often given during some of the hardest moments of a person’s life. They provide comfort, care, and practical essentials while reminding victims that they matter and are not alone.
For this effort, there are a few special items we urgently need that are not normally included in our standard backpacks:
• Chapstick
• Phone Chargers
• Shower Wipes
• Sunscreen
There are two ways you can help:
Make a Financial Donation Visit Care Package Inbound and make a donation. Please include “FIFA World Cup” in the comments section so we can direct the funds toward these specific outreach backpacks.
Host a Donation Drive Gather your workplace, church, school, gym, or community group and collect any of the items listed above.
Every backpack tells a story. Together, we can help make the next story one of hope, dignity, and restoration.
Thank you for standing with us and helping make a difference in Kansas City.
